Duties:

  • Conduct a literature review and summary of past scholarship of methods relevant to improving integration of cultural-benefits-knowledge into adaptive environmental assessment and management.
  • At a minimum, review must include the references included in Hoelting et al. 2022.
  • Develop a detailed research agenda derived from Task 1 and the related to the development of an Opportunities Framework that improves integration of cultural-benefits-knowledge in environmental assessment and adaptive management.
  • Draft a scientific article that articulates methods for improved integration of cultural-benefits-knowledge in environmental assessment and adaptive management, using the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program as a case study.

Education and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of integrating cultural-benefits-knowledge in environmental management Familiar with the Opportunities Framework (Hoelting et al. 2022).
  • PhD in anthropology, philosophy, natural resource management or related field. This is a highly technical request for services, with an expectation of knowledge related to applied environmental management and a theoretical understanding of cultural-benefits-knowledge.
  • Experience working with Federal agencies that conduct science and manage natural resources and experience working directly with indigenous population.
