Part time Driver for Student/nonCDL

 

Southwest Transit Systems is searching for applicants to fill the following positions which require working a split shift schedule in San Gabriel

• Non CDL Van Drivers with a CLEAN driving record.
• 5 years driving experience and over 23 years

APPLICANT MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be honest, presentable, flexible, reliable and dependable. Has had any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the potential ability to perform the duties of the position and demonstrable safe driving experience in the operation of a motor vehicle. Have a general understanding of the laws, rules and regulations applicable to the operation of a vehicle in the transportation of school children.

• A valid California drivers license with a clean record.
• 5 years driving experience
• 23 years of age and older

IF CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION, APPLICANT MUST OBTAIN:

• Background check including finger printing
• Drug Test

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor students, report and document any behaviors. Drive a Van safely and efficiently over a designated route according to an established time schedule. Must be able to read and understand maps and written instructions. Must possess Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations, especially parents school staff. Perform health care safety procedures including cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid.

Follow a set procedure to check the bus each morning ensuring it is in proper working order including checking for proper maintenance and safety. At the conclusion of the day's route, prepares bus for the following day, including checking fluid and fuel levels and replacing as needed. Cleaning inside and outside of van, reporting need for maintenance and repair work directly to the supervisor. Securing and locking bus after each work day. Prepare reports and maintain records including route books, attendance and mileage sheets, student/family information and records.

SUMMER WORK:

Not all schools have summer programs, but we may have other things available in other areas. Please ask your supervisor for more information on the availability of summer work.

EXTRA WORK:

Field trips not only for the schools we provide transportation for but also for other schools and businesses that hire us to provide these services. Shuttling, Fueling and washing vehicles.
