The County of Riverside’s Department of Public Social Services seeks a Staff Development Officer who will be assigned to their Administrative Services Division in Moreno Valley, CA.

The selected candidate is responsible for delivering training for incoming and current staff this will include travel to various locations throughout the County of Riverside. In doing so, the Staff Development Officer will be tasked with delivering both in service and induction training, creating the training calendar, coordinating guest speakers for each class, and evaluating the performance of inductees. These trainings will consist of both in person and virtual classes. Additionally, the incumbent will handle personnel matters and disciplinary action for inductees, and administrative duties associated with the induction class.

The most competitive candidate will possess and demonstrate the ability to evaluate inductees, strong leadership qualities, ability to work well under pressure, and ability to manage competing demands. Lastly, the department seeks candidates that have experience with the County of Riverside’s Department of Public Social Services - Children Services Division. Supervisory experience is not required yet preferred, candidates will also have experience training employees.

At this time, the position has some opportunity to telework based on business need, however job expectations, at times may require in person interaction. Telework may change at any time and you will be expected to report to the office.
